LA LOMA

 GRAPE: Tempranillo 90% Garnacha 10%

APPELLATION: Rioja DO

VINIFICATION
The harvest, by hand and in small boxes, was 2,500. Cold maceration for 3 days, before starting fermentation, which took place in a small stainless steel tank, at controlled temperature. The pumping over regimen varied depending on the moment of fermentation, always looking for respect the subtlety of this vineyard.

TASTING NOTES:

Beautiful cherry red color, bright and vivid. On the nose it is very subtle and elegant, with intense black fruits (blackberry, blueberries) and spices (cinnamon, liquorice) on a fresh and very floral background from the 10% Garnacha from this vineyard. A very wide and balanced mouth is surprising, with silky and polished tannins. Fresh, enveloping and with a long finish.

FOOD PAIRING:

Excellent to accompany dishes of roasted meats, legumes and stews. It also combines very well with starters of sauseges, ham, Iberian and cured cheeses.

Tech Sheet:

PRODUCER: Briones, in the heart of the Rioja Alta, gathered all the conditions I was looking for: old steep vineyards of Tempranillo grapes, chalky soil and a climate showing a marked Atlantic influence. Declared a town of historic artistic merit, Briones is where we decided to site our bodega.

Now as one of the smallest wineries in Spain, our wines are among the most prestigious in the country.
