GRAPE: Tinto fino 100%
APPELLATION: Ribera del Duero DO.
VINIFICATION: 100% tinto fino from bush vines. Sustainable farming. Grapes are hand sorted. Gravity fed into 50hl vat where fermentation takes place with native yeasts. Fermentation and maceration for 15 days. Aged 18 months in mainly French oak barrels
TASTING NOTES: Astrales stands out for its powerful nose of black fruits, spices, balsamics and toast, with a great balance, a lingering finish on the palate, a vintage of great intensity and backbone, finishing with a firm and fine tannicity, allowing excellent ageing over the coming years.
FOOD PAIRING: Ideal with roast lamb, suckling pig or red meats as braised beef.

Despite being a relative newcomer (2000), Los Astrales is a top quality wine producer with an exceptional amount of experience, gathered by a family who have been cultivating vines for three generations: Romerade la Cruz family. Together with the prestigious winemaker: Eduardo García.
Eduardo García joined the Company in 2001 as Technical Director, giving a boost to the project with the production of the first Astrales 2001.
All vineyard of the winery is concentrated in Anguix(Burgos), village located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero.
With 29 hectares of property of Tinto Fino grapes that allow complete self-sufficiency and controlled top quality production with 150,000 bottles per year on average.
The last milestone is the incorporation of José Hidalgo Togoresas, Technical Director in 2013. José Hidalgo, is one of the most recognized winemakers in Spain and author of the “Viticulture and Oenology Treaty”, the text used in most Oenology Schools of Spain and Latin America.
